It also spawned two spin-off series, Higanjima: Saigo no 47 Nichikan, and Higanjima 48 Nichigo…, both published in Kodansha's… The first season aired from October 2002 to October 2003 and was positively received by critics. A second season, titled Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG,[c] aired from January 2004 to January 2005. Having started as a dōjinshi group, most of Clamp's dōjinshi are from their earlier years. A number of Clamp's earlier works are also not listed above. Since then, however, the license has lapsed, and Dark Horse Comics picked up the publishing rights in 2014. After Tokyopop's license expired, Dark Horse Manga released the series in omnibus editions from October 2010 to September 2012. The first Initial D volume was released in Japan on November 6, 1995 and concluded on July 29, 2013. The manga has been translated officially into Chinese, French and English over its publication run.
